Do you ever have a great idea, that just sits there for awhile?
It nags at you now and then, gently tugging at your heartstrings?
Then one day, the idea decides enough is enough, and that it’s time to be loud and place itself on your heart in a manner that you simply… must.
Two years ago, this little idea of re-imagining nursery rhymes grew into an undeniable determination to make people smile. I thought about the poems that were just waiting in a folder on my computer, the bits and pieces of rhyme that danced through my head to the tunes of the classics. I thought about all the parents of the world reciting nursery rhymes to their children… the children learning and singing along, bonding with their parents and siblings, creating memories…
I thought about the words in those classic rhymes. I imagined making them different so that I could make a difference in people’s lives.
Make them smile. Encourage them to dream big. Evoke laughter. Teach lessons… and hold tight to tradition while appreciating that it’s an ever-changing world.
I’m so glad the idea didn’t give up on me, just like I never gave up on it.
It’s been quite an adventurous two years, and the best is yet to come.
Every child who laughs from these rhymes, every lesson learned, each parent who snuggles their child while reading the books to them… makes it so very, very worth it.
A lot of little things can add up to making a big difference.
So my friends…
If you have an idea, embrace it.
If you have a dream, chase it.
Happy 2 Years, Mama Kangaroo! Here’s to many more!!
